Mediation Moot Court Competition
The American Bar Association “Law Student National Representation in Mediation Competition is designed to acquaint the law student participants with advocacy skills in alternative dispute resolution processes, specifically mediation.” The team selection process is designed to recruit and train students to represent clients in mediation. Two teams will be chosen early in the Spring Semester to represent Western New England School of Law in the ABA competition at the end of February.
In the Fall Semester the students and student coaches meet once a week with the faculty member to learn negotiation strategies and skills and to practice in mock mediations. In the Spring Semester the teams will meet twice a week until the end of February. The competition will continue to mid-April if a WNE team advances to the national competition.
Students will receive one credit in the fall and two credits in the spring. (3 Credits)
The competition is open to 2Ls and 3Ls.
