Law and Business Center to Present Free Small Business Workshop
Posted Tuesday, September 28, 2010
The Western New England College Law and Business Center for Advancing Entrepreneurship will present a free workshop on common legal problems facing small businesses and entrepreneurs. The session is scheduled for Wednesday, October 6 from 8:30 until 10:00 p.m. at the Westfield Business Improvement District, 48 Elm Street, Suite 5, in Westfield. The workshop is open to the public.
While every business is unique, the legal problems they encounter are surprisingly similar. During the workshop, Law and Business Center Director and Professor of Law Eric Gouvin will provide a quick tour of the "top ten" legal mistakes made by small businesses. The program touches on a range of legal topics that come up all the time in small businesses, from trademarks to contracts to employment law to taxes.
The Western New England College Law and Business Center for Advancing Entrepreneurship was established to provide graduate business and law students with an opportunity to offer practical consultation to entrepreneurs. The initiative uses the combined resources of the School of Law and the School of Business to foster new business development.
