New Transgender Rights Law: Strategies for Compliance and Advocacy

The new Center for Gender & Sexuality Studies at the School of Law hosted a workshop titled “Massachusetts’s New Transgender Rights Law: Strategies for Compliance and Advocacy” on February 14. The workshop featured a panel of experts exploring steps that employers, landlords, lenders, and others should take to ensure their compliance with this new law that prohibits discrimination on the basis of gender identity. Panelists included Julian Tynes, Chair of the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination; Susan Fentin, Partner at Skoler, Abbott, and Presser, P.C.; Whitney Holovach, Civil Rights Specialist at the Massachusetts Fair Housing Center; and Jennifer Levi, Professor at Western New England University School of Law.
