Clason Speaker Series to Host Fionnuala Ni Aolain on January 29

Western New England University School of Law’s Clason Speaker Series will host a talk by Fionnuala Ni Aolain on Tuesday, January 29 at 12:00 noon in the Blake Law Center Commons. The talk, entitled “Gendering Conflict and Post-Conflict Settings,” is free and open to the public.
Ni Aolain is a Visiting Professor of Law and John Harvey Gregory Lecturer on World Organization at Harvard Law School. She is concurrently the Dorsey and Whitney Chair in Law at the University of Minnesota Law School and a Professor of Law at the University of Ulster's Transitional Justice Institute in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Ni Aolain has published extensively in the fields of emergency powers, conflict regulation, transitional justice and sex based violence in times of war. Her book Law in Times of Crisis, was awarded the American Society of International Law's preeminent prize in 2007 - the Certificate of Merit for creative scholarship. Her book On the Frontlines: Gender, War and the Post Conflict Process was published by Oxford University Press.
Now in its 24th year, the Clason Speaker Series hosts expert lecturers to enhance the academic environment at the Western New England University School of Law. The series is named after Charles R. Clason, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives who served as Dean of the School of Law from 1954 to 1970.
