The School of Law celebrated its Commencement ceremony on May 18 at Springfield Symphony Hall. School of Law Dean Arthur Gaudio pointed out during his speech that "The event is called 'Commencement' and not 'Conclusion'. It's a beginning and not an end." Gaudio mentioned that the "Commencement ceremony is the beginning of your new life in the law. It's a transition or rite of passage and although you'll be leaving Western New England, you'll always be part of us."

During the event, 159 graduates received their degrees. Hailing from 19 different states, the graduates were encouraged to "Find passion and fulfillment in your work" by University President Anthony S. Caprio. He followed up with advice for those graduates that will be taking the bar exam in the coming months saying "Don't forget, you have every reason to feel confident because you have studied here; you have learned the art of rigorous analysis, and you have gained hands-on knowledge of the law."
