Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship to Host Ron Lalli
Posted Thursday, September 5, 2013
The Western New England University Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship will host a presentation by serial entrepreneur Ron Lalli on Thursday, September 12, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in Sleith Hall room 100. During his lecture, Lalli will discuss the path he took to starting, running, and growing his business ventures. He will share lessons that he learned along the way and give pointers to those that are just starting out. The event is free and open to the public and lunch will be provided.
A dual degree alumnus and longtime trustee of Western New England University, Lalli’s entrepreneurial spirit first emerged as a mechanical engineering student when he cofounded Park Enterprises, LLC, which produced dances and concerts for college students throughout New England. In 1967 he became cofounder and executive vice president/treasurer of his own company, EBTEC, which was one of the first electron beam welding and laser sub-contacting facilities in the country and produced multiple spin-off companies.
Ron left EBTEC in 1986 for a new venture called Texcel, Inc., which produces hermetic laser welding and marking services to the microelectronic, medical surgical instrument and medical implant industries. He was founder, CEO, and treasurer of PTI Industries, a nondestructive testing firm, as well as founder and CEO of Litron, Inc. (hermetic sealing systems), Overhaul Support Services, LLC (helicopter industry), and Nitor (laser marking).
Beyond industrial ventures, Ron was instrumental in the establishment of Berkshire Brewing Co with his son, Chris Lalli, and Chris’ partner, Gary Bogoff.
