Clason Speaker Series Examines Environmental Law

The School of Law's Clason Speaker Series hosted former faculty member Robin Kundis Craig on November 14. Her lecture, titled "New Directions in State Public Trust Doctrines in a Climate Change Era," gave a brief overview of the public trust doctrine and PPL Montana, LLC v. Montana and examined the different approaches states are developing, including the ecological public trust doctrine and the recent atmospheric public trust doctrine.
Craig is the William H. Leary Professor of Law at the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law in Salt Lake City. She is also affiliated with the Wallace Stegner Center for Land, Resources, and the Environment. In addition, Craig has authored or coauthored five books and numerous articles.
