Posted Monday, June 9, 2014
The Northeast Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel held its tenth annual Law Student Ethics Awards dinner recently at the Union Club in Boston. Western New England University School of Law students Megan MacKenzie and Daniel McKellick were among the award winners.
Paul Nightingale, Senior Vice President & General Counsel, HP Hood LLC and President of ACC- Northeast, and Law students Megan MacKenzie and Daniel McKellick, and Jim Peck, Ethics Co-Chair of ACC-Northeast
The Chapter created the awards program to recognize and encourage the ethical practice of law at the earliest stages of a young lawyer’s professional career. This important recognition also shines a spotlight on ethics more generally, demonstrating that the legal community values lawyers who are guided by ethical principles. The award, which includes a $1,000 scholarship, is given to twelve students from each of the participating local law schools, who have demonstrated an early commitment to ethics through work in clinical programs representing their first real clients. Wayne A Budd, Senior Counsel at Goodwin Procter and former U.S. Attorney for the District of Massachusetts, gave an inspiring keynote address.
