Law Alum Mark Mastroianni Confirmed as Federal Judge

Hampden District Attorney Mark G. Mastroianni was confirmed by a 92-2 vote in the U.S. Senate today as a U.S. District Judge for Massachusetts. Mastroianni is an alumnus of Western New England School of Law and received his J.D. Degree in 1989. Mastroianni was nominated last year by President Barack Obama to replace semi-retired District Judge Michael A. Ponsor as the only federal judge serving in Springfield. Gov. Deval Patrick is expected to appoint an interim replacement for Mastroianni.
